BYC Newsletter #3

Dear Yoga students and those interested in Yoga,

The second week of our classes are almost completed and I’m trying to build the next set of classes that will start Tues., Nov. 14 and run for six weeks. So far I have a new Level I starting on Tuesday and one Wednesday afternoon. I would like to have a men only class Wed. evening. Maybe that will get some fellows involved. Their wives shouldn’t have all the fun. Besides, what good is a couple if one is limber and the other stiff? One dances, the other can’t.

I can have a level II class on Monday and Thursday evening and one on Tues. afternoon, for those who have taken this class on would like to continue their practice. In the next class we will continue the present routine with some new asanas added, and the emphasis on LGAB will continue. LGAB is “Let Go and Breath.” Check schedule for updates.

We will be discovering how to apply this practice to our workaday world, so that the experience of peace and well being that we find in class can become a transforming force in our life and family. We should remember that we practice yoga just for ourselves, but our practice benefits our whole family. As we become grounded in peace and well-being, our family will also experience peace and well-being. In our hurricaine world of rushing here and there, you will become its peaceful eye.

For those of you who are not checking the BYC web site or my Journal, I recommend that you do because I find that most of my daily writing now is about yoga, my personal experience in the practice, and what I’m discovering as we take this winding course of self discovery.

I’m also posting on What’s New? at the BYC site, downloads of what is being discussed in class. Today’s journal entry is, “Is Yoga a Spiritual Path?” My web site is becoming an extension of the class and a way for you to keep for your records what we are uncovering here in our classes.

Again, I want to express my appreciation for your joining me on this journey, this little path we are walking together for awhile. Most of you have know me, either personally or casually, for a few years, and now we have this opportunity to see each other as entirely new people. The practice of yoga opens up new dimensions in our lives, and seeing each other with fresh eyes is the best example of this opening.

So let me know by e-mail if you would like to sign up for the next round, or if you have any suggestions about class scheduling.

Thank you,
Om Peace
